The Texas Rangers positioned All-Star outfielder Adolis Garcia on the 10-day injured listing on Thursday due to a patellar tendon pressure in his proper knee.
The proper fielder was injured within the second inning of Wednesday night time’s recreation towards the Houston Astros after attempting to rob Michael Brantley of a homer. Garcia leaped and was unsuccessful in making the catch, touchdown awkwardly on his proper leg.
Trainers attended to Garcia, and he was visibly upset when advised he must depart the sport. Garcia was evaluated with an MRI on Thursday that confirmed the damage.
In a corresponding transfer, the Rangers introduced they may name up high prospect Evan Carter from Triple-A Spherical Rock in time for Friday’s residence recreation towards the Oakland Athletics.
Carter, 21, was chosen by Texas within the second spherical of the 2020 draft out of Elizabethton (Tenn.) Excessive College. This season, taking part in for Triple-A, Double-A and Rookie League groups, the outfielder is batting .288 with 13 residence runs and 67 RBIs in 420 at-bats over 108 video games.
Garcia, a two-time All-Star, led the American League via Wednesday with 100 RBIs and ranked third with 34 homers. He’s batting .244 with 26 doubles, a .322 on-base proportion and .494 slugging proportion.
The 30-year-old has 92 homers and 291 RBIs over the previous three seasons.
