A Black surfer in Florida says a number of of his white counterparts stole his board and nailed it to a tree in a racist act … and the allegations are so disturbing, cops inform TMZ Sports activities they’re now investigating the matter.
The surfer’s title is Andrew Sherlock Mills … and on Tuesday, he defined in a social media publish that the incident went down final weekend in Jupiter.
He claimed that when he turned his again after driving within the ocean waters, his board was nabbed after which pinned excessive up on a close-by palm tree.
“That is how actual the racism and hate is in Jupiter, Florida,” Mills wrote in an Instagram publish. “They can not stand to see a Black man of their waters. I used to be instructed I am not welcome. Stole my board after I turned my again they usually did this. Mentioned it was a message. They nailed it to the tree like a lynching.”
Mills mentioned he didn’t name cops … and as a substitute, “took the board down, stayed and surfed the entire day with a small board to point out face.”
“A number of locals that had been there have been apologizing and agreed it was mistaken,” Mills added. “They did mentioned, after what occurred, I am welcome to surf their waters freely and nobody will hassle me. I am simply going to depart it in God’s palms.”
We reached out to the Jupiter Police Dept. for touch upon the scenario … and a spokesperson instructed us officers had been made conscious of the claims by way of social media and have since launched a probe.
Thus far, no suspects have been named … and no arrests have been made.
