New Delhi [India], Nov 7 (ANI): The Documentation Identification Quantity (DIN) system of Central Board of Oblique Taxes (CBIC) is slated to return into drive from tomorrow.
In line with an official assertion by the Division of Income, this path-breaking system will deliver transparency and accountability within the oblique tax administration via the widespread use of data know-how.
Income Secretary Ajay Bhushan Pandey, stated, “Within the oblique tax administration, the DIN could be used for search authorization, summons, arrest memo, inspection notices and letters issued in the middle of any enquiry.”
He stated that any communication from GST, Customized or Central Excise Division with no computer-generated DIN, could be handled as invalid.
“The DIN system would supply the taxpayer with a digital facility to confirm any communications. It will be prolonged to different communications by the top of subsequent month. No communication could be issued with out DIN besides solely whether it is within the specified distinctive circumstances”, stated Pandey.
It will be essentially required to specify the rationale for issuing such communication with out DIN and written approval of the competent authority shall be obtained inside 15 days.
Any communication issued manually beneath distinctive circumstances must be regularized on the system inside 15 working days of its issuance.
CBIC Chairman Pranab Okay Das additionally stated that the measure would create a digital listing for sustaining a correct audit path of such communications.
“Now all such specified communications with DIN could be verifiable on the web portal cbicddm.gov.in and any communication which isn’t in conformity with the prescribed tips as per the DIN associated Circulars dated 05.11.2019 shall be handled as invalid,” stated Das. (ANI)
