In his tackle to the nation, Putin referred to as the armed mutiny by Wagner mercenaries a ‘stab within the again’ and stated that the group’s chief, Prigozhin, had ‘betrayed’ Russia.

“It is a stab within the again to our nation, to our nation… What now we have been confronted with is precisely betrayal. Extravagant ambitions and private pursuits led to treason,” he stated.
