Simone Biles, who recently added four Olympic medals in Paris to her already stellar legacy, is still mapping out her future but definitely envisions having children someday. In a conversation with Hoda Kotb on “TODAY” Tuesday, Biles discussed her plans to start a family with her husband, Jonathan Owens, as she considers her next steps.
“Yes, Jonathan and I frequently talk about having kids, and he would have started a family yesterday if he could,” Biles said. “We both have goals we want to achieve before we take that step.”
When Kotb asked if she sees herself as a mom one day, Biles affirmed, “Yes, most definitely.”
Biles and Owens, who have been married for just over a year since their April 2023 wedding, continue to enjoy their time together. Biles mentioned that Owens still surprises her with flowers “weekly,” and she received a playful “bouquet” of french fries from “TODAY” while in Paris.
Looking ahead, there’s also a chance Biles could make another appearance at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, where she would be 31. “You never say never,” Biles told Kotb. “The next Olympics is on home turf. So you just never know. I’m going to relax and see where life takes me.” Regardless of what the future holds, Biles and Owens cherished their experiences in Paris, where she won gold in team, all-around, and vault, and silver in floor exercise.
Owens, a safety for the Chicago Bears, took a break from training camp to support Biles in Paris. He also got into the Olympic tradition of pin trading. “He was so excited about it,” Biles shared. “I warned him that pin trading was a big deal, and he absolutely loved it.”
During the competitions, Owens was seen diligently tracking scores from the stands, reflecting his deep appreciation for Biles’ dedication. “He was so thrilled to see me compete in person,” she said. “He saw the hours I put in and was amazed. It meant the world to him to be there.”
