Swalwell misconduct, assault allegations shake California governor’s race

Rep. Barbosa was first employed by Swalwell — who’s operating for California governor — in 2021 after coming to the U.S. from Brazil on an au pair visa, in response to The Publish.
Barbosa was paid $3,914 in marketing campaign funds in 2021 and acquired $46,930 in 2022, in response to Federal Election Fee knowledge.

Barbosa later enrolled at a group school and was not allowed to work off campus below pupil visa guidelines, The Publish reported. Nonetheless, social media photographs seem to indicate her interacting with Swalwell’s youngsters at household occasions all through 2023 and 2024.
FEC data reviewed by the outlet present that $52,262 in marketing campaign bills for “childcare” have been reimbursed to Swalwell, which the criticism alleges was a workaround to maintain Barbosa employed whereas she was not approved to work within the U.S.
