On Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Supply,” Rep. Haley Stevens (D-MI) stated that she continues to be backing Democratic Michigan U.S. Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed, and she or he believes he “can” and “will” denounce the “harmful” advert “blaming Jews for the price of groceries being excessive” and one other advert with Tucker Carlson.
Stevens started by saying, “[O]ur nominee is in a really robust place to denounce the hateful adverts which have damage folks. We’ve received one with Tucker Carlson, who’s a racist, anti-black, white [supremacist] apologist, and we’ve received one other that’s blaming Jews for the price of groceries.”
She added, “Abdul — and I absolutely imagine he can do that — can denounce Tucker Carlson and denounce antisemitic hate, issues that make, significantly, minority communities really feel much less secure and really make them much less secure. When, as an illustration, you blame Jews for the price of groceries being too excessive or healthcare not being reasonably priced, that’s harmful for Jews. While you’re in some way propping up Tucker Carlson, that makes an entire host of individuals in our black neighborhood really feel much less secure and focused.” And “I do know that he has it in him to denounce these two adverts, to take them down.”
Stevens additional said, “I wish to encourage this marketing campaign to close out the hate and to name it out and to make individuals who have been in my coalition, proper? Make them really feel comfy about coming to the polls, proper?”
Stevens additional stated, “I do know our candidate can do the appropriate factor right here. I do know that we are able to disavow blaming Jews for the price of groceries being excessive. And I do know that we are able to disavow Tucker Carlson.” She then said, “I imagine he can try this and can try this.”
