Wicked: For Good is set to hit theaters on November 21.
While the first film closely followed Act 1 of the original Broadway musical, the second installment will include two brand-new songs, according to composer Stephen Schwartz, who spoke with TODAY.com.
The film’s title is drawn from the emotional duet “For Good,” a fan-favorite ballad sung by Glinda and Elphaba near the end of the stage production—marking a turning point in their relationship and legacy.
Although full plot details for the second film haven’t been officially released, Wicked: For Good is expected to stay true to the structure of the musical, mirroring the storyline of Act 2, much like its predecessor did with Act 1.
