Vrana entered the NHL/NHLPA’s participant help program on Oct. 19 and was reinstated on Dec. 16. He was assigned to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on a conditioning mortgage final week and performed three video games.
The 26-year-old from Prague, Czechia, registered one purpose and one help in two video games with the Crimson Wings earlier this season.
Vrana has yet another season remaining on the three-year contract he signed with Detroit in August 2021.
Drafted thirteenth total by Washington in 2013, Vrana captured the Stanley Cup with the Capitals in 2018. He was traded to Detroit in April 2021 with Richard Panik and two draft picks for Anthony Mantha.
Vrana has 98 objectives and 91 assists for 189 factors in 323 video games over seven seasons with the Capitals and Crimson Wings.
