Russian Warships To Participate In Joint Naval Drills With China This Week

Moscow introduced Monday that a number of of its warships have been taking part in naval workouts beginning this week with Beijing’s navy, as Russia and China deepen ties amid strain from the West.

The Russian defence ministry stated the drills would happen between December 21 and 27 within the East China Sea, with the intention of “strengthening naval cooperation” between Moscow and Beijing.

They would come with dwell firing of missiles, artillery and workouts to counter submarines, an announcement stated.

“The primary aim of the workouts is to strengthen naval cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Individuals’s Republic of China, keep peace and stability within the Asia-Pacific area.” 

It stated China would incorporate two destroyers, patrol ships, a provide ship and a submarine. 

“Plane and helicopters of the navy’s aviation forces of the Pacific Fleet and the Individuals’s Liberation Navy might be concerned within the train,” the ministry stated.
