[ad_1]

Director and screenwriter John Ridley has opened up about the scrapped Eternals tv present he was making for Marvel and ABC.

Whereas showing on the Comedian Ebook Membership Podcast (through Deadline), Ridley delved into his model of Eternals and the peculiar opening scenes that will have been within the pilot episode.

“It’s not within the works anymore,” Ridley defined. “It was a tv model of The Eternals … However good … My model was the nice model. It was so f—ing bizarre. There was my model, a very good model, which is nice to me, which — that doesn’t imply something. There was the model that [Marvel] ended up doing, which I don’t assume … that model was notably good. I’ll be sincere.

“My model began with, the very first thing you see is a younger man, in all probability about 18 years previous. And he’s sitting there. He’s sitting there for a second. After which he lifts his fingers. He has a drill in it. And he turns the drill on. And he places the drill to his ear. And he begins pushing it in. After which it goes from there. That’s the beginning, proper? That’s the way it begins. After which I believe you see … one other child … He sleeps within the bathtub, covers himself with foil. It’s only a actually bizarre story about these people who find themselves, I imply, it’s simply bizarre.”

Ridley then famous that his model of Eternals falling by way of was possible “the very best factor to occur for everyone,” as he didn’t know if “it might have been entertaining.”
