January 14 – Minnesota Vikings backup running back Cam Akers will suit up for Monday night’s NFC wild-card game against the Los Angeles Rams in Glendale, Arizona.
Akers, who has been dealing with an illness, missed practice on Saturday and was listed as questionable for the game.
This season, Akers has rushed for 297 yards and scored one touchdown in 12 games for Minnesota. He started the season with the Houston Texans before being traded to the Vikings in mid-October.
Akers played for the Rams from 2020 to 2023.
Minnesota designated Daniel Jones as its third quarterback. The Vikings’ inactives for the game are Jones, defensive lineman Levi Drake Rodriguez, center Dan Feeney, offensive tackle Walter Rouse, and outside linebacker Pat Jones II.
The Los Angeles Rams listed quarterback Stetson Bennett (third quarterback), wide receiver Tyler Johnson, cornerback Emmanuel Forbes Jr., outside linebacker Brennan Jackson, and offensive linemen Justin Dedich and Joe Noteboom as their inactives.
